Time flies just like your drone. 2025 sees the first batch of expiries of General Visual Line of Sight Certificates (GVC) which are valid for 5 years.
But don’t stress! We have you covered with a GVC renewal refresher course and theory exam to keep you flying legally and confidently.
What’s included in the GVC renewal?
Our refresher day is designed to get you back up to speed with UK drone regulations. You’ll get:
- A comprehensive refresher on the UK Specific Category regulations.
- A briefing on the future of UAS regulation, including the introduction of SORA methodology for Operating Safety Cases.
- The GVC theory exam to complete your renewal.
You can attend either in person at Leaping Wing HQ (near Cardiff and Bridgend in South Wales) or online, whichever suits you best.
The Small(ish) Print
Cost: £350+VAT
Practical requirements: you must show logs evidencing currency of flight hours. Alternatively, a practical flight assessment may be taken (£215+VAT)
And if you don’t pass? You have two options:
- Use the £350 as credit towards the next scheduled full GVC course with Leaping Wing (normally £899+VAT, subject to availability).
- Take a full GVC with another provider at your own cost.
