Case Study

Overview

With a major renovation planned, our client needed to make a comprehensive external condition inspection of this multi-story office facility near the city centre. With a busy road and intersection immediately adjacent, and no rooftop access, a drone survey was clearly the most efficient way to gather the required data. 

One significant challenge for the project was how to deal with the considerable amount of glazing on the facade, as reflections were anticipated to cause considerable difficulties with photogrammetry modelling. However, with optimisation of our in-house processing and a tightly controlled capture method, we were able to mitigate these issues almost entirely.

Within 48 hours of capture, a full suite of both model and imagery was made available not just to the client but also a number of sub-contractors. Each was able to specify works and and estimate quantities with their annotations and measurements summarised in an auto-generated PDF report.
